Every year the Cajun Heritage Festival honors one of its members whose work and support of the club makes the festival a success. This year the honor goes to Rafton Lefort.
Rafton Lefort is a resident of Laroce, LA. He is 64 years old. He has been happily married for 45 years to his wife Beverly. Proud parent of 2 girls - Christine and Kathy and 2 boys - Toby and Charles. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Deway Lefort of Golden Meadow.
He has been carving about 40 years, self taught. Learned carving by trial and error and reading books. He enjoys carving, fishing and anything pertaining to wildlife. He has been a member of the Cajun Heritage Club for years and looks forward to attending the show each year. He would like to thank all who have helped the club and show, continue to prosper and grow. With the continued support of the Cajun Heritage Festival and club, the craft of woodcarving will be passed on to future generations to come. Thanks for this honor and it will be appreciated forever.
